How ABA Works
Applied Behavior Analysis or ABA Therapy is an evidence-based interpersonal therapy designed to support clients on the Autism Spectrum. ABA therapy works through consistent and ongoing behavior improvements, focusing on specific behaviors such as social skills, communication, reading as well as adaptive learning skills, academic and job competencies, as well as daily living skills. Through reinforcement, clinicians are able to help clients cultivate desired behaviors while also discouraging and finding replacement behaviors for unwanted behaviors– such as tantrums, self-injurious behaviors and elopement.
